The company was founded in 1909 when two grain-trading families, led by W.L. Parrish from Brandon, Manitoba and Norman Heimbecker from Hanover, Ontario, joined together to become Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited. Members of these two founding families still own and manage the company over a century later. P&H has enjoyed substantial growth year over year with customers in 24 countries and more than 1,500 employees across Canada — including our flour milling team at P&H Milling, and our livestock feed providers at New-Life Mills.
P&H’s National Grain Assets, Crop Input Network, Flour, and Feed Mills span from coast to coast in Canada. Our facilities are strategically located to match producer grain with the quality, quantity, and logistical requirements of domestic and export end users. This includes over 40 grain and crop input sites, 7 export terminals, 7 flour mills and 5 animal feed production facilities.
The core values of honesty and integrity were instilled in the company by our founders, and they continue to be driving principles for our business today. We pride ourselves on being a first-class business partner who is focused on listening and continuously learning how to improve so that we can meet and exceed our customers’ needs.
The P&H group of companies is committed to investing in state-of-the-art facilities and ongoing infrastructure development that supports Canadian agricultural producers. Our business spans a wide spectrum of the agribusiness sector, and we are always growing and adapting to meet the changing demands of our customers and end-use consumers.
