New Dugald site to provide full suite of crop input solutions and global grain marketing opportunities

Dugald, Man. (June 7, 2019) – Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) announced today that it will build a new crop input and grain facility in the Dugald, Manitoba area.

Plans for the new site include 25,000 tonnes of grain storage, a loop track for continuous grain loading and movement as well as crop input facilities including a fertilizer plant, chemical warehouse and seed treatment facility to serve customers in surrounding areas, including Transcona.

“We are looking forward to continuing to expand our family-owned agricultural operations with a new facility in Dugald,” said John Heimbecker, President Grain Division and Executive Vice President, Parrish & Heimbecker. “This new location will provide area producers with both efficient, state-of-the-art grain handling and crop input facilities as well as valuable insight, knowledge and expertise through a team of agronomic and grain marketing professionals that are dedicated to helping customers grow and market the best crop.”

The new location bolsters the existing P&H National Grain Asset Network, bringing area producers the chance to leverage global grain marketing opportunities provided by the P&H grain merchandising team, which has over 100 years of experience in matching producer grain with the needs of both domestic and export end users. P&H Dugald will handle and ship canola, corn, oats, soybeans and wheat.

The Dugald site will also be home to a team of agronomic experts who will leverage a full suite of seed, crop protection and crop nutrition products as well as an on-site seed treatment plant to provide area producers with crop input solutions that fit their farm. The 6,000 tonne dry fertilizer plant will deliver custom fertilizer blends, including micronutrient additions, with industry-leading accuracy and consistency to provide producers with balanced plant nutrition to support their continual pursuit for higher yields.

Construction of the new facility is expected to begin in June of 2019, with the site becoming operational approximately 18 months thereafter.

**Construction update: Expected date of operation is summer 2021.
