New tower will increase capacity, speed and capability to add micronutrients and liquid additives

KERWOOD, Ont. (November 22, 2018) – Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited is pleased to announce the installation of a new fertilizer tower at its Kerwood location.

The tower is part of expansion plans that have been expedited due to overwhelming customer support for the recently built fertilizer facility. The expansion will allow the location to both keep pace with the growing local demand and maintain a high level of service, while also providing increased access to fertilizer markets across North America and around the globe.

“P&H is committed to helping farmers grow and market the best crop and our investment in the Kerwood facility expands the capabilities we can offer to customers,” said John Heimbecker, President Grain Division and Executive Vice President, Parrish & Heimbecker. “The Kerwood expansion is key to bringing complete crop input and grain solutions to growers in the Lambton and Middlesex Regions and we look forward to continuing to grow alongside our customer base in this area.”

The new fertilizer tower will significantly increase blending capacity and deliver industry-leading accuracy and consistency. These capabilities are important as the demand for specific micronutrient additions continues to grow as farmers look to balance fertility based on soil test results, properly nourish the crop with the right nutrients and push for higher yields.

“The new tower should more than triple our fertilizer blending capacity and will allow us to match our pace of growth with the continually increasing demand for fast, efficient and precise fertilizer blending at our location,” said Calvin Brown, Branch Manager, Parrish & Heimbecker – Kerwood. “This is an important investment in continuing to provide our customers with timely and personalized service and we look forward to bringing this improved offering to both current and new customers in the area.”

The new fertilizer mixer balances speed with the ability to minimize degradation through paddles that gently blend the dry products to ensure particles remain intact. The mixer is also specifically designed to thoroughly and uniformly apply micronutrients, Nitrogen stabilizers and liquid additives for more consistent distribution across the acres that the product is applied.
